BONAMI, Francesco
Curator : autobiografia di un mestiere misterioso / Francesco
Bonami. - Venezia : Marsilio, 2014. - 143 str. ; 22 cm. - (I nodi ; 2240-4252)

BURNHAM, John

Burnham ; edited by Melissa Ragain ; [foreword by Hans Haacke]. - Cambridge
(Mass.) ; London : The MIT Press, cop. 2015. - XXXII, 317 str. : ilustr. ; 24
cm. - (Writing art series)
"Jack Burnham is one of the few critics and
theorists alive today who can claim to have radically altered the way we think
about works of art. Burnham's use of the term "system" (borrowed from
theoretical biology) in his 1968 essay "System Aesthetics" announced the
relational character of conceptual art and newer research-based projects.
Trained as an art historian, Burnham was also a sculptor. His first book,
Beyond Modern Sculpture (1968), established him as a leading commentator on art
and technology. A postformalist pioneer, an influential figure in new media art
history, an early champion of conceptual and ecological art, and the curator of
the first exhibition of digital art, Burnham is long overdue for reevaluation.
This book offers that opportunity by collecting a substantial and varied
selection of his hard-to-find texts, some published here for the first time.
Although Burnham left the art world abruptly in the 1990s, his visionary
theoretical ideas have only become more relevant in recent years. This
collection seeks to restore Burnham to his rightful place in art criticism and
theory, reestablishing his voice as crucial to critical conversations of the
period. It gathers his early writing on sculpture, his essays on systems art
and conceptualism, his views of the New York art world, and his later occult
work -- including an unorthodox interpretation of Marcel Duchamp's work that
draws on the Kabbalah." --> na zavihku ov. - Bibliografija: str. 285-296. -

Bennett, Fiona Cameron, Nélia Dias, Ben Dibley, Rodney Harrison, Ira Jacknis,
and Conal McCarthy. - Durham ; London : Duke University Press, 2017. - XX, 340

"The coauthors of this theoretically innovative
work explore the relationships among anthropological fieldwork, museum
collecting and display, and social governance in the early twentieth century in
Australia, Britain, France, New Zealand, and the United States. With case
studies ranging from the Musée de l'Homme's 1930s fieldwork missions in French
Indo-China to the influence of Franz Boas's culture concept on the development
of American museums, the authors illuminate recent debates about postwar forms
of multicultural governance, cultural conceptions of difference, and
postcolonial policy and practice in museums. Collecting, Ordering, Governing is
essential reading for scholars and students of anthropology, museum studies,

DIXON, Steve
Digital performance : a history of new media in theater, dance,
performance art, and installation / Steve Dixon ; with contributions by Barry
Smith. - Cambridge (Mass.) ; London : The MIT Press, 2015. - XV, 809 str. :
ilustr. ; 23 cm. - (Leonardo)
"The past decade has seen an
extraordinarily intense period of experimentation with computer technology
within the performing arts. Digital media has been increasingly incorporated
into live theater and dance, and new forms of interactive performance have
emerged in participatory installations, on CD-ROM, and on the Web. In Digital
Performance, Steve Dixon traces the evolution of these practices, presents
detailed accounts of key practitioners and performances, and analyzes the
theoretical, artistic, and technological contexts of this form of new media
art. Dixon finds precursors to today's digital performances in past forms of
theatrical technology that range from the deus ex machina of classical Greek
drama to Wagner's Gesamtkunstwerk (concept of the total artwork), and draws
parallels between contemporary work and the theories and practices of
Constructivism, Dada, Surrealism, Expressionism, Futurism, and multimedia
pioneers of the twentieth century. For a theoretical perspective on digital
performance, Dixon draws on the work of Philip Auslander, Walter Benjamin,
Roland Barthes, Jean Baudrillard, and others. To document and analyze
contemporary digital performance practice, Dixon considers changes in the
representation of the body, space, and time. He considers virtual bodies,
avatars, and digital doubles, as well as performances by artists including
Stelarc, Robert Lepage, Merce Cunningham, Laurie Anderson, Blast Theory, and
Eduardo Kac. He investigates new media's novel approaches to creating
theatrical spectacle, including virtual reality and robot performance work,
telematic performances in which remote locations are linked in real time,
Webcams, and online drama communities, and considers the "extratemporal"
illusion created by some technological theater works. Finally, he defines
categories of interactivity, from navigational to participatory and
collaborative. Dixon challenges dominant theoretical approaches to digital
performance -- including what he calls postmodernism's denial of the new -- and
offers a series of boldly original arguments in their place." --> z ov. -

The FINAL
countdown : Europe, refugees and the left / [contributors Boris Buden ... et

2017 (Ljubljana : Tiskarna Januš). - 201 str. ; 21 cm
"Published on the
occasion of the NSK State Pavilion, 57th Venice Biennale." --> prelim. str. -
"There is a commonly accepted notion that we live in a time of serious crisis
that moves between the two extremes of fundamentalist terrorism and right wing
populism. The latter draws its power from the supposed threat of immigrants: it
proposes to resolve the immigrant crisis by placing the blame on the principal
victims themselves, that is to say, on some form of otherness (immigrants,
Islam, the LGBT community and similar). The predominant leftist position, which
advocates multicultural tolerance and understanding, is no match for such
aggressive populism. The premise of The Final Countdown: Europe, Refugees and
the Left is that our situation is indeed extremely dangerous, that near
unimaginable catastrophes are lurking on the horizon, but that these new
dangers also open up new spaces for radical emancipatory politics. Eleven
distinguished thinkers take these perils as a challenge to provide sharp,
specific analysis of our social and political predicament, combining a
merciless critique of the prevailing leftist humanitarian approach with elements
of a new vision for the Left. The Final Countdown is therefore also a countdown
to a new beginning; it is a practice of theory that is not here to lament but to
re-think and reframe the very basic coordinates of how we understand and deal
with today's major political issues." --> z ov. - 3.000 izv. - Opombe z

Drugi dodatek k nasl. naveden v kolofonu. - "A fascinating survey
of pioneering work in experimental cinema and art from 1905 to the present day,
revealing the high stakes and transformative potential of these forms This
generously illustrated publication surveys the work of filmmakers and artists
who have pushed the material and conceptual boundaries of cinema. Over the past
century, the material, optical, abstract, spatial, and tactile properties of
film have been tested at a level of experimentation and utopian ambition that is
generally unrecognized. Whether creating synesthetic or 3-D environments,
projective or non-projective installations, generations of leading-edge artists
have explored how technology transforms experience. The essays published here
offer an intensive look at the themes of cinematic space, formats of the
screen, animation and CGI, the body and the cyborg, and the materiality of film.
Contributors place particular emphasis on the idea of the cinema as a sensorium
and on the ways in which it defines the human body, both through representation
and in relation to the projected image. An immersive plate section brings
together rarely seen and previously unpublished stills, in addition to concept
drawings from historic and contemporary films." --> s spletne str. založnika.

JONES, Caroline A.
The global work of art : world's fairs, biennials, and the
aesthetics of experience / Caroline A. Jones. - Chicago ; London : The
University of Chicago Press, cop. 2016. - XVI, 331 str., [32] str. pril. :
ilustr. ; 29 cm
Nasl. raztegnjen čez dve str. - "Global biennials have
proliferated in the contemporary art world, but artists' engagement with
large-scale international exhibitions has a much longer history that has
influenced the present in important ways. Going back to the earliest world's
fairs in the nineteenth century, this book argues that "globalism" was incubated
in a century of international art contests, and today constitutes an important
tactic for practicing artists. As world's fairs brought millions of attendees
into contact with foreign cultures, products, and processes, artworks became
juxtaposed in a "theater of nations," which challenged artists and critics to
think outside their local academies for the first time. From Gustave Courbet's
rebel pavilion near the official art exhibit at the 1855 French World's Fair to
curator Beryl Madra's choice of London-based Cypriot Hussein Chalayan for the
off-site Turkish pavilion at the 2006 Venice Biennale, artists have used these
exhibitions to reflect on contemporary art, speak to their own governments back
home, and challenge the wider geopolitical realm changing art and art history
along the way. Ultimately, Caroline A. Jones argues, the modern appetite for
experience and event structures, which were cultivated around the art at these
earlier expositions, have now come to constitute contemporary art itself,
producing encounters that transform the public and force us to reflect
critically on the global condition." --> na zavihku ov. - Bibliografija:

JUDD, Donald
Donald Judd : writings / [editors Flavin Judd, Caitlin Murray]. -
New York : Judd Foundation : David Zwirner Books, cop. 2016. - 1054 str. :
ilustr. ; 19 cm
"Donald Judd Writings, copublished by Judd Foundation
and David Zwirner Books, is the most comprehensive collection of the artist's
writings assembled to date. This timely publication includes Judd's best-known
essays, organized chronologically with little-known texts previously published
in limited editions. This new collection also includes unpublished college
essays and hundreds of never-before-seen handwritten notes, a critical but
unknown part of Judd's writing practice. Judd's earliest published writing,
consisting largely of reviews for hire, defined the terms of art criticism in
the 1960s, but his essays as an undergraduate at Columbia, published here for
the first time, contain the seeds of his later writing, and allow readers to
trace the development of his critical style. The writings that followed Judd's
early reviews are no less significant art-historically, but have been relegated
to smaller publications and have remained largely unavailable until now. The
largest addition of newly available material is Judd's unpublished notes
transcribed form his handwritten accounts of and reactions to subjects ranging
from the politics of his time, to the literary texts he admired most, from
complaints about pluralism in art to his admiration for Giambattista Vico, and
through him, Lucretius. In these intimate reflections we see Judd's thinking at
his least mediated a mind continuing to grapple with questions of its moment and
demonstrating the intensity of thought that continues to make Judd such a
formidable presence in contemporary art." --> s spletne str. založnika. -

Antipolitics in central European art : reticence as dissidence
under post-totalitarian rule, 1956-1989 / Klara Kemp-Welch. - London ; New York
: I. B. Tauris, 2017. - XX, 325 str. : ilustr. ; 24 cm
"In this bold
book Klara Kemp-Welch offers a compelling account of the way that artists in
Central Europe embraced alternative forms of action-based practice, just as
their dissident counterparts were formulating alternative models of politics -
in particular an `antipolitics' of self organization. Spanning a period
punctuated by landmark events - the crushing of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution,
the invasion of Czechoslavakia in 1968 and the birth of the Polish Solidarity
movement - while presenting powerful new readings of six key artists,
Antipolitics in Central European Art anchors art historical analysis to a robust
historical framework. Its rich illustrations reveal how those artists struggled
to enjoy freedom of expression and reclaim public space inside a political
system where both seemed impossible." --> z ov. - Bibliografija: str.

is one of the most important Eastern European artists working since the 1960s,
whose art had and has considerable international significance. This is the most
comprehensive exhibition of the Slovak artist's work to date, documenting his
independent contribution to the neo-avantgarde and based on painstaking
research into his art and archives. Koller's work developed in critical distance
to the communist authorities and their official art, and it also questioned
traditions in modernism and the conventions of the Western art business. Since
the mid-1960s he designed Antihappenings and Antipictures, creating a playfully
ironic oeuvre that combined a Dadaist spirit with radical-skeptical stance.
Koller painted object-images in white latex and pictures of question marks that
became the universal symbol of his critical view of everyday life and reality.
Koller saw tennis and table tennis as participatory art forms and here too he
combined sport with political statement by demanding that the rules of the game
and fair play be adhered to as the basis of all social action. After the Prague
Spring was put down, Koller began his U.F.O.naut series that challenged reality
with cultural situations and utopias of a new, cosmohumanistic culture and
future." --> s spletne str. muzeja. - Bibliografija: str. 300-302

Bazzichelli. Razstava, ki jo bosta gostila Galerija Škuc v Ljubljani in MMSU -
družbeno in politično akcijo v slugu povzročanja motenj.
motenj. Čedalje večja komercializacija souporabe in omrežnih kontekstov, ki jo
opažamo od sredine prejšnjega desetletja naprej, spreminja pomen umetnosti in
posla. Kar so bile nekoč obrobne prakse mreženja v hekerskih in umetniških
underground kontekstih, je v zadnjih letih postalo osnovna poslovna dejavnost
številnih podjetij s področij informacijskih tehnologij in družbenih medijev.
motenj onstran dialektičnih opozicij, kar vodi do odkritja podzavestnih in
s hektivizmom, umetnostjo, državljanskimi svoboščinami in družbenim mreženjem
ukvarjajo neposredno ter razkrivajo protislovja kapitalistične logike in
sistemov moči. Takšne intervencije se polastijo poslovne logike kot take, si jo
podredijo in jo preusmerijo s povzročanjem motenj. Izziv pri tem je kolektiven
vnovičen razmislek o opozicijskih hektivističnih in umetniških strategijah
znotraj okvira (družbenega) mreženja, informacijske ekonomije in čedalje
agresivnejših korporacij in vladnih agencij. " --> s spletne str. založnika

one of the most acclaimed and influential Brazilian artists of the twentieth
century. A prominent member of a generation of artists who embraced the
optimistic spirit of postwar Brazil, she is particularly known for her
participation in the experimental art movement Neoconcretism. Beyond that, Pape
engaged with a wide range of media, constantly experimenting in a quest to
confront the canonical and discover unexplored territories in modern art. This
beautifully illustrated publication accompanies the first major exhibition in
the United States devoted to Pape's work. Featuring essays by art historians in
both North and South America, as well as two previously untranslated interviews
with the artist and an illustrated chronology, Lygia Pape is a testament to the

"The definitive book
on the work of a virtuosic and revered American photographer Irving Penn
(1917-2009) was among the most esteemed and influential photographers of the
20th century. Over the course of a nearly seventy-year career, he mastered a
pared-down aesthetic of studio photography that is distinguished for its
meticulous attention to composition, nuance, and detail. This indispensable book
features one of the largest selections of Penn's photographs ever compiled,
including famous and beloved images as well as works that have never been
published. Celebrating the centennial of Penn's birth, this lavish volume spans
the entirety of his groundbreaking career. An enlightening introduction
situates his work in the context of the various artistic, social, and political
environments and events that affected the content of his photographs. Lively
essays acquaint readers with Penn's primary subjects and campaigns, including
early documentary scenes and imagery; portraits; fashion; female nudes; peoples
of Peru, Dahomey (Benin), New Guinea, and Morocco; still lifes; and much more."

PERFORMANCE,
identity, and the neo-political subject / edited by Matthew Causey and
Fintan Walsh. - New York ; London : Routledge, 2013. - IX, 273 str. : ilustr. ;
25 cm. - (Routledge advances in theatre and performance studies ; 28)
"This book stages a timely discussion about the centrality of identity
politics to theatre and performance studies. It acknowledges the important
close relationship between the discourses and practices historically while
maintaining that theatre and performance can enlighten ways of being with
others that are not limited by conventional identitarian languages. The essays
engage contemporary theatre and performance practices that pose challenging
questions about identity, as well as subjectivity, relationality, and the
politics of aesthetics, responding to neo-liberal constructions and
exploitations of identity by seeking to discern, describe, or imagine a new
political subject. Chapters by leading international scholars look to visual
arts practice, digital culture, music, public events, experimental theatre, and
performance to investigate questions about representation, metaphysics, and
politics. The collections seeks to foreground shared, universalist connections
that unite rather than divide, visiting metaphysical questions of being and
becoming, and the possibilities of producing alternate realities and
relationalities. The book asks what is at stake in thinking about a subject, a
time, a place, and a performing arts practice that would come 'after' identity,
and explores how theatre and performance pose and interrogate these questions."

PERLOFF, Nancy
Explodity : sound, image, and word in Russian futurist book art /
Nancy Perloff. - Los Angeles : Getty Research Institute, cop. 2016. - VII, 199
str. : ilustr. ; 22 cm
"The artists' books made in Russia between 1910
and 1915 are like no others. Unique in their fusion of the verbal, visual, and
sonic, these books are meant to be read, looked at, and listened to. Painters
and poets--including Natalia Goncharova, Velimir Khlebnikov, Mikhail Larionov,
Kazimir Malevich, and Vladimir Mayakovsky--collaborated to fabricate
hand-lithographed books, for which they invented a new language called zaum (a
neologism meaning "beyond the mind") that was distinctive in its emphasis on
"sound as such" and its rejection of definite logical meaning. At the heart of
this volume are close analyses of two of the most significant and experimental
futurist books: Mirskontsa (Worldbackwards) and Vzorval' (Explodity). In
addition, Nancy Perloff examines the profound difference between the Russian
avant-garde and Western art movements, including futurism, and she uncovers a
wide-ranging legacy in the midcentury global movement of sound and concrete
poetry (the Brazilian Noigandres group, Ian Hamilton Finlay, and Henri Chopin),
contemporary Western conceptual art, and the artist's book." --> opomba

POIESIS
/ edited by Nathan Brown & Petar Milat. - Zagreb : Multimedijalni institut,
2017. - 234, XXXIII str. : ilustr. ; 22 cm
"If we situate poiesis
within the expanded field of material production, then poetics will not only be
proper to the province of literature. Where there is making, there we find
poetics: theory of the formal practice of production. If, when the first volume
of Marx's Capital descends into - the hidden abode of production - we descend
also into the realm of poiesis, that is because making is not only the vatic
enterprise of an author reposing in pensive mood. What gets made, and how,
depends upon configurations of social and technical forces, and this puts every
practice of artistic making film, sculpture, painting, architecture,
performance, poetry, etc. on a common, though uneven, ground of historical
determination. The theory and practice of making, poiesis, traverses any
particular art form, drawing the methods and materials of discrepant productive
practices into relation, articulating their common conceptual, formal, and
ideological problems across boundaries between specific media, institutional
contexts, and disciplinary protocols. With a few additions, most of the essays
collected in this volume were presented at a three-day symposium of the same
title in Zagreb in 2015. This was also the occasion for a performance of
Marjana Krajač's choreographed dance piece, Variations on Sensitive, which in
turn occasioned the poetic response by angela rawlings, si tu, published along
with Poiesis." --> opomba založnika. - Essays by Thomas Schestag, Branka

PRACTICABLE : from participation to interaction in contemporary art /
edited by Samuel Bianchini and Erik Verhagen ; with the collaboration of
Nathalie Delbard and Larisa Dryansky. - Cambridge (Mass.) ; London : The MIT
Press, 2016. - XV, 930 str. : ilustr. ; 24 cm. - (Leonardo books)
"How
are we to understand works of art that are realized with the physical
involvement of the viewer? A relationship between a work of art and its
audience that is rooted in an experience that is both aesthetic and physical?
Today, these works often use digital technologies, but artists have created
participatory works since the 1950s. In this book, critics, writers, and artists
offer diverse perspectives on this kind of "practicable" art that bridges
contemplation and use, discussing and documenting a wide variety of works from
the last several decades. The contributors consider both works that are
technologically mediated and those that are not, as long as they are
characterized by a process of reciprocal exchange. The book offers a historical
frame for practicable works, discussing, among other things, the emergence and
influence of cybernetics. It examines art movements and tendencies that
incorporate participatory strategies; draws on the perspectives of the
humanities and sciences; and investigate performance and exhibition. Finally, it
presents case studies of key works by artists including and offers interviews
with such leading artists and theoreticians as Claire Bishop, Thomas Hirschhorn,
Matt Adams of Blast Theory, Seiko Mikami and Bruno Latour. Numerous
illustrations of artists and their works accompany the text." --> na zavihku

QUARANTA, Domenico
Troika / Domenico Quaranta ; [prevod Polona Petek]. - Brescia :
Link editions ; Ljubljana : Aksioma - Zavod za sodobne umetnosti, 2013. - 77
str. : ilustr. ; 21 cm
"Poleti 2007 so trije umetniki iz Slovenije
svoje ime uradno spremenili v Janez Janša.
rezultat odbiranja in dokumentiranja specifičnih epizod v njihovih življenjih. Z
uporabo osebnih izkaznic, potnih listov in bančnih kartic skušajo ustvarjalci
izpodbijati uveljavljene koncepte "umetnosti" in "umetniškega dela". Njihova
uravnavati naša življenja, in ruši poskus elit umetnostnega sveta, ki skušajo

SHOLETTE, Gregory
Delirium and resistance : activist art and the crisis of
capitalism / Gregory Sholette ; edited by Kim Charnley ; foreword by Lucy R.
Lippard. - London : Pluto Press, 2017. - XIX, 290 str. : ilustr. ; 23 cm
"In the aftermath of the 2016 US elections, Brexit, and a global upsurge
of nationalist populism, it is evident that the delirium and the crisis of
neoliberal capitalism is now the delirium and crisis of liberal democracy and
its culture. And though capitalist crisis does not begin within art, art can
reflect and amplify its effects, to positive and negative ends. In this
follow-up to his influential 2010 book, Dark Matter: Art and Politics in the
Age of Enterprise Culture, Sholette engages in critical dialogue with artists'
collectives, counter-institutions, and activist groups to offer an insightful,
firsthand account of the relationship between politics and art in neoliberal
society. Sholette lays out clear examples of art's deep involvement in
capitalism: the dizzying prices achieved by artists who pander to the financial
elite, the proliferation of museums that contribute to global competition
between cities in order to attract capital, and the strange relationship
between art and rampant gentrification that restructures the urban landscape.
With a preface by noted author Lucy R. Lippard and an introduction by theorist
Kim Charnley, Delirium and Resistance draws on over thirty years of critical
debates and practices both in and beyond the art world to historicize and
advocate for the art activist tradition that radically-and, at times,
deliriously-entangles the visual arts with political struggles." --> z ov. -

400 izv. - Aparat fotografije in opeka
fotografske teorije / Ilija Tomanić Trivundža: str. 75-79.
pomenskost fotografske podobe. Kot umetnostni zgodovinar je Tagg izjemno
pozoren bralec podob, saj jih analizira s filigransko natančnostjo, s katero
odpira potencialna alternativna branja in subverzivne pomene. Nabor prevedenih
fotografije in njegove povezanosti z mehanizmi discipliniranja." --> s

TEACHING art

De Bruyne (eds.) ; [translations Leo Brinkman]. - 2nd ed. - Amsterdam : Valiz,
2013. - 259 str. ; 21 cm. - (Antennae ; no. 7)
"In most countries art
education is not immune from a large-scale reorganisation. Educational
institutions are increasingly required to operate as enterprises that compete
for the best or the largest number of students and to express their objective
and results in financial and management terms. In short, the field of education
has become a market. Whether there is still room for art in it remains an
important question. Teaching Art in the Neoliberal Realm investigates the
effects of this setup on content and practice of artistic education and the
position of art and the artist. The perspective is international." --> s

Afterall Books ; Annandale-On-Hudson : Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard
College, 2017. - 256 str. : ilustr. ; 22 cm. - (Exhibition histories)
"A collective of artists, a gallery and a movement, APTART was a series
of self-organized "anti-shows" that took place in a private apartment and
outdoor spaces in Moscow between 1982 and 1984. These covert and anarchic
actions, which soon came into conflict with the Soviet authorities, represented
a collective attempt to rethink the politics of exhibition-making and the making
of a public in the absence of a public sphere. The first comprehensive
publication on APTART, this book presents extensive photographic documentation
of all their activities alongside archival texts from contributing artists and
documents from the time. Main essays by Margarita Tupitsyn and Victor Tupitsyn
offer a detailed elucidation of the movement's history and guiding concepts; and
further analysis is provided by contributions from Alexandra Danilova, Elena
Kuprina-Lyakhovich, Richard Goldstein, Sven Gundlakh, Ilya Kabakov, David

VOORHIES, James
Beyond objecthood : the exhibition as a critical form since 1968 /
James Voorhies. - Cambridge (Mass.) ; London : The MIT Press, 2017. - IX, 275
str. : ilustr. ; 25 cm
"In 1968, Robert Smithson reacted to Michael
Fried's influential essay "Art and Objecthood" with a series of works called
non-sites. While Fried described the spectator's connection with a work of art
as a momentary visual engagement, Smithson's non-sites asked spectators to do
something more: to take time looking, walking, seeing, reading, and thinking
about the combination of objects, images, and texts installed in a gallery. In
Beyond Objecthood, James Voorhies traces a genealogy of spectatorship through
the rise of the exhibition as a critical form -- and artistic medium. Artists
like Smithson, Group Material, and Michael Asher sought to reconfigure and
expand the exhibition and the museum into something more active, open, and
democratic, by inviting spectators into new and unexpected encounters with
works of art and institutions. This practice was sharply critical of the
ingrained characteristics long associated with art institutions and
conventional exhibition-making; and yet, Voorhies finds, over time the critique
has been diluted by efforts of the very institutions that now gravitate to the
"participatory." Beyond Objecthood focuses on innovative figures, artworks, and
institutions that pioneered the exhibition as a critical form, tracing its
evolution through the activities of curator Harald Szeemann, relational art, and
New Institutionalism. Voorhies examines recent artistic and curatorial work by
Liam Gillick, Thomas Hirschhorn, Carsten Holler, Maria Lind, Apolonija
Sustersic, and others, at such institutions as Documenta, e-flux, Manifesta, and
Office for Contemporary Art Norway, and he considers the continued potential of
the exhibition as a critical form in a time when the differences between art and
entertainment increasingly blur." --> z ov. - Kazalo

WADE, Nicholas J.
Art and illusionists / Nicholas Wade. - Cham [etc.] : Springer,
2016. - XII, 386 str. : ilustr. ; 24 cm + očala in folija. - (Vision, illusion
and perception ; vol. 1)
"We delight in using our eyes, particularly
when puzzling over pictures. Art and illusionists is a celebration of pictures
and the multiple modes of manipulating them to produce illusory worlds on flat
surfaces. This has proved fascinating to humankind since the dawning of
depiction. Art and illusionists is also a celebration of the ways we see
pictures, and of our ability to distil meaning from arrays of contours and
colours. Pictures are not only a source of fascination for artists, who produce
them, but also for scientists, who analyse the perceptual effects they induce.
Illusions provide the glue to cement the art and science of vision. Painters
plumb the art of observation itself whereas scientists peer into the processes
of perception. Both visual artists and scientists have produced patterns that
perplex our perceptions and present us with puzzles that we are pleased to
peruse. Art and illusionists presents these two poles of pictorial
representation as well as presenting novel 'perceptual portraits' of the
artists and scientists who have augmented the art of illusion. The reader can
experience the paradoxes of pictures as well as producing their own by using the
stereoscopic glasses enclosed and the transparent overlay for making dynamic
moire patterns." --> z ov. - Bibliografija: str.355-361. - Kazali

ZAROBELL, John
Art and the global economy / John Zarobell. - Oakland : University
of California Press, 2017. - XIII, 324 str. : ilustr. ; 23 cm
"Art and
the Global Economy analyzes major changes in the global art world that have
emerged in the last twenty years including structural shifts in the global art
market; the proliferation of international art fairs, biennials and blockbuster
exhibitions; and the internationalization of the scope of contemporary art.
John Zarobell explores the economic and social transformations in the cultural
sphere, the results of greater access to information about art, exhibitions,
and markets around the world, as well as the increasing interpenetration of
formerly distinct geographical domains. By considering a variety of
locations--both long-standing art capitals and up-and-coming centers of the
future--Art and the Global Economy facilitates a deeper understanding of how
globalization affects the domain of the visual arts in the twenty-first
century." --> z ov. - "With essays by Lucia Cantero, Mariana David, Valentin
