Brane Zorman Tree Spirit | Touch
live ambient sound event

Saturday, 18 June 2022, at 10 p.m. Museum Summer Night

The sound work Tree Spirit | Touch speculates about the sound component of the life of trees, questioning the entanglement of individual parts of the plants with colonies of organisms and the forest as a whole/community. Sound recordings give voice to the life of trees in their seasonal and life cycles, beginning and ending in silence – the silence before the sap starts flowing in the spring, and the silence after the destruction due to climate change, droughts, or wildfires.

The composition with the recorded and processed sounds of trees, produced both inside the plants themselves and as a result of human touch or environmental impact, creates an emotional and dramatic musical tale, full of natural and enhanced sounds that energetically fuse and intertwine.

The performance is part of the Emergency Exit exhibition and the Museum Summer Night programme.
