The series continues with the contribution of Zdenka Badovinac, inspired by the balcony scenes we see on social and other media. Other information about the work in the online presentation of permanent exhibition at the +MSUM.

“Sanja Iveković’s Triangle 2000+ from 1979 is one of the first works Moderna galerija purchased for its Arteast 2000+ collection. Moderna galerija may well have been the first museum to acquire this work for its collection, which shows how unique it is. Unlike the later edition of the work, entitled Triangle and consisting of three photographs, our Triangle 2000+ comprises four photographs. It is an excellent example of how the life of an artwork changes with the circumstances. More than forty years after it was made, in this time of general isolation that goes beyond anything anyone of us has ever experienced, Triangle provokes us to rethink the boundaries between public and private space. A woman on a balcony is a classic motif in the history of art, which is acquiring a new meaning as we consider the question of what public space has been reduced to. Virtual space, windows and balconies have taken on the role and importance of town squares. We are witnessing new creative expressions on balconies, at the moment aimed primarily at showing solidarity and encouragement between neighbors. Is the balcony also a potentially subversive space, as Iveković’s balcony was in the late 1970s?”
