Marko Košnik has worked as a polymedia artist since the early 1980s. He composes electroacoustic music, develops synesthetic instruments for live manipulation of sound and digital video, directs and produces solo and group performances, builds poetic platforms and installations, expanding them with social and technological envelopes all the way to interactive environments he prefers to program himself.

Since its founding (1986), the Egon March Institute (IEM) has invited individual collaboration in projects in accordance with the founding principles of collective work:
- the collaboration with collaborators in projects is based on individual artistic positions;
- only IEM’s projects are produced. Under certain conditions, they can be united with independent productions of invited collaborators;
- the documentation about realized productions is kept by IEM. Publishing archival materials is based on Creative Commons principles;
- if the organizers of the realizations cannot meet the conditions of organizationally and technologically advanced productions, IEM and collaborators build platforms that enable the realization through exchange of equipment and knowledge.

In this way, IEM has (until 2023) realized 72 productions, 28 of which were international, with more than 30 international collaborators in 16 countries on the European continent and in Mexico, Japan, and Indonesia.

Discoursor
is a series of six meetings organized in 2023 and dedicated to the issues of preserving, restoring, and presenting digital artworks, in particular works in which the (often DIY) software or hardware component of the computer technology used represents an important part of the artwork.

The meetings consist of two parts: a lecture or discussion and a presentation or short-term mini-exhibition consisting of one work or perhaps two. The presented works form a constituent part of the whole of the subject under discussion at the respective Discoursor.
