Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, The Netherlands

The exhibition Rewinding Internationalism explores developments, ideas and stories from the 1990s and how they resonate in the world today. The end of the Cold War, the AIDS pandemic and increasing globalization brought about dramatic changes, also in the art world. What became of the questions and experiences of those days?

Curated by Nick Aikens, Rewinding Internationalism is part of the four-year EU program Our Many Europes by the L’Internationale confederation of museums.

Representing Moderna galerija in the exhibition is Bojana Piškur, who has curated, together with Grace Samboh and Rachel Surijata (independent curators from Indonesia), an exhibition-research project entitled Contemporary Art of the Non-Aligned Countries. Unity in Diversity in International Art (Jakarta, 1995). In part, the research relates to the Southern Constellations: The Poetics of the Non-Aligned exhibition staged at the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in 2019.
