A multimedia artist, Eva Tratnik works both in the field of painting and other media and performative practices, which essentially impacts her painting. Her pictorial field is the scene of confrontation between different, and often disparate, elements: her paintings are fabric collages or drawing compositions, they expand into space or are only finalized by aggressive strobe lighting. In subject-matter, they are close to the fantasy of magic realism, juxtaposing unexpected meanings and symbols and coalescing them into new meanings that are often given an extra enigmatic or humorous twist with the title, which opens up the endless play of associations for each work.
