Tanja Lažetić: Kumrovec Hotel

A short conversation at the beginning of the video informs the viewer that the number of employees at Hotel Kumrovec remained stable from 1974, the year it was built, until 2007, the year the video was shot, despite having seen no visitors for years. We can see the splendid modernist architecture of the hotel resort, but the sounds we hear indicate that the resort is situated in a rural environment. The only reason such a building exists far away from all important roads and cities is the fact that the Kumrovec village is the birthplace of Josip Broz – Tito, former President of the SFRY.
