The book Community of Emancipated Thoughts and Bodies, Methodologies of Notation of Slovene Female Contemporary Dance Artists 2 brings us the continuation of the reflections of nine couples, consisting of a choreographer and a critic, in dialogue on the topic of notation of original artistic practices in the local contemporary dance field. The starting point of our conversation on the occasion of the publication of the book is the discussion about the concept and understanding of authorship, which can no longer be clearly defined in view of the heterogeneity of creative processes (individual – collective) and performance formats (open – closed). We will be interested in what it means to be an author in contemporary dance today, the role of externally recognisable aesthetics or poetics, the role of the methodology of the creative process, the relationship between authorship and choreography and how the work of dancers (performers – co-creators) is understood in these contexts.
