Panellists: Kaja Teržan, Andreja Podrzavnik, Zala Dobovšek, Maša Radi Buh, Pia Brezavšček, and audience
For whom? This seemingly basic question echoes the many concerns we face when questioning the meaning of our work, i.e. artistic creation and support and care work in the (performative) arts. Other questions come to mind: Who takes care of the various types of context and why? Are these accessible to all and if not, why? Who are we creating for, and who are we talking to? What social class do we and our public come from? How do we break through the echo chamber? We attempted to address some of these problems in the 221–222 issue of the journal Maska, eponymous with the titular question of the proposed panel; you are now invited to add your questions so we can try and answer them together. Ultimately, they concern us all. This open discussion may well become one of the (above mentioned) contexts giving rise to a new process, where we are all indirect creators – including (our) public.
