Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova +MSUM, Ljubljana

Between November 2023 and January 2024, Aleksandra Vajd was a visiting artist at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana.

The students and I would get together at the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova and engage in productive exchanges. The idea was to intertwine the dynamics and the people of the institutions maintaining and nurturing the visual arts ecosystem, such as the Academy of Fine Arts and Design and Moderna galerija with its temporary exhibitions, permanent collection, and public events.

The topical points of departure in our discussions were the identity of a person whose original self has become abstracted by the digital space, and the human body turning into a fluid, digital mass through the use of and life with new technologies. A.V.
