Sonica 2019 Festival in collaboration with Moderna galerija presents a workshop on DIY analogue electronic instrument entitled Sentinel of the Arctic. The workshop will be conducted by Staška Guček, a member of Kikimore band.
Workshop for building an analogue electronic instrument Sentinel of the Arctic, a simple theremin-based electronic circuit with two potentiometers regulating volume and frequency, and with a DIP switch for additional sound settings. The Sentinel of the Arctic”s wing-shaped antenna enables most interaction with the instrument. Changing the distance of the user’s hand from it or gently sliding the fingers over the wings is how sound is generated. Let the Sentinel of the Arctic be a noisy messenger and a warning for us to take care of the environment we share with other organisms. Staša conceived the Sentinel of the Arctic at PIFcamp's creative laboratory.
The workshop will be followed by a performance with self-made DIY electronic instruments.
